geocaching baby!
chris and i have started geocaching! today was our first time together. i have done it one other time with chris' sisters cathy and delauna and we had so much fun. christopher hasnt ever done it before, but some of his siblings are pretty into it and have told us about it for a long time. chris just bought a gps for the car (it was with all his birthday and fathers day loot) and we used that to find the coordinates and stuff. our "team name" is potatoesandpalmtrees. we took jack along this evening for family home evening and found three different caches. we are hooked!
fay, fay, go away
right after our visitors left we were busy preparing for tropical storm fay. we weren't sure if she was going to stay a tropical storm or move up to a cat 1 hurricane by the time she reached us. we got all of our water and food together, bags packed in case of an evacuation and all those other odds and ends that come along with a hurricane. chris was worried about it, but im sure it was only because he really didnt know what to expect. i do have to admit, it is a little scary when you have a couple little ones that your in charge of. the night before the storm came (she hit the morning of the 19th), i was walking thru the kitchen and i noticed something out of the corner of my eye. there was a little frog that had got inside the house. so i asked chris to come catch it and he did. we let it go outside and came back in. i had something to throw away so i went into the laundry room where the garbage can is. when i turned on the light there were frogs every where! ok ok, everyone knows i tend to exaggerate. they werent everywhere, but we did catch 4 or 5 frogs in the laundry room. what i think happened was chris had brought in a bunch of boxes earlier that afternoon from mom and dads garage and put them in the laundry room and i think they were either on the boxes or came in when he had the door open. it was pretty fun catching them together!
august 2008
ok, so im already slacking with this whole blog thing, sorry everybody. well, this month has been a pretty busy one. on friday the 15th we went to julia's wedding in orlando. it was very nice, but i forgot the camera of course. then the next day, mom and i helped set up the reception and then we went to the reception that night, bet you couldnt have guessed that! well the next tuesday chris' family came to visit from ohio. it was soooo much fun. cathy and her kids, kayla and cade came, along with delauna and her two kidos morgan and caiden. we had a blast. jack LoVeD every minute of it! when they got here late tuesday night they found little personalized boxes with chocolates and candies on their bed... i tried to be a good hostess like mom. even though most were on air matresses, i think everyone was comfortable.
with tropical storm fay brewing down by cuba, we had some pretty good waves. the water was murky, but at least it was warm. i was worried that they wouldn't have fun because they all wanted to find shells and things, but in the end, i think everyone had fun in the waves.

ellie loves cold things. ice, popsicles, milk, even her sweet potatoes and rice cereal. but she especially loves ice cream! she wouldnt be a browne if she didnt!
bass pro shop
we went to bass pro shop and let jack hold a fishing rod. since then, grandma has bought one for him and he cant put it down. he even holds it while he eats.
more of orlando magic
ok, so this is the only way i have figured out to post pics. here are some more from our orlando trip last weekend for my birthday! as you can tell, im pretty excited...okay okay....more than excited for harry potter park to open. i took pics by every hp sign there was around the park. i can admit that im a dork. on the drive to orlando we saw this weird sculpture made out of old r.v.s, it was a little creepy.
orlando baby!
we went to orlando last weekend for two nights. mom and dad watched the kids and it was such a nice break!!! we went to islands of adventure, ate at a brazilian steakhouse, and saw batman. we had such a great time. the best story though took place at islands of adventure. we went on one of those river rapid rides. it was one of those ones with the big tube that seats like ten people. well after chris and i sat down, a man got on and took a spot next to chris. he stood up and took off his pants.....seriously! he was wearing a bright red speeeeeedo! it was hilarious!
