Sometimes, things change.
With our move last summer, our family made some big changes.
Some hard, some happy, some not so big, but changes were all around. But things settled after a couple months and we found our groove.
Last Sunday I was asked to make another change.
I am now the Young Women President in our ward. I definitely didn’t see it coming. I thought for sure Chris was the one being given a new calling. In fact, he did too which explains why he had a tear in his eye when they asked me... he said “I’m so glad it’s not me” haha!
I realize this isn’t a huge deal, certainly not “hard”, but it’s going to be challenging for me (mostly) and our family as a whole will have to make changes. But we all know change is good.
I will grow.
I will learn.
And I hope most of all,
I will love.
And like I learned with our move, we will find our groove.
As I was feeling overwhelmed last Sunday evening with feelings of fear and inadequacy, I had a thought that has stuck with me. If God loved me enough to send His Son for ME, I can certainly give a few years of my life to these young women. That’s one way I can show my gratitude.
I recently saw the following quote and it fit my situation right now perfectly:
Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being excited about what could go right” Tony Robbins
The young women here are phenomenal. My counselors and secretary are incredible. When I put aside the doubts I feel about myself, I am able to see what amazing things the Lord will help us accomplish together. And that’s exciting!
Besides, I get to go to girls camp!!!

David Bowie is running through my head as I read your post, I think he would think you were going to be a top-notch YW Pres, I know I think so!

Time may change me
But I can't trace time
I said that time may change me
But I can't trace time
It had been awhile since I looked at this but want you to know that you will do a great job as you learn to relate to all those fantastic, trying sweet teen age sisters. It will definitely be a growing experience. God blesses will go with you always as you put your best foot forward. Love to all. Miss you so much seeing those sweet smiling faces on Sunday mornings.
