Western Adventure 2013: ISLAND PARK

look at them beautiful tetons!

bart and janie have a cabin in gorgeous Island Park. so we headed up there on the 22nd (our anniversary) and stayed through the 23rd (jack's birthday).
can you spot the three sleepy heads in the photo below?

we made a stop at big springs to see the fish and ducks.

the boys went fishing at Henry's lake both days.
grandpa was impressed with jack's casting skills.
but, even with those mad skills, they only had one bite.
luckily it was jack on his birthday :)

mmmmm, worms.

we roasted hot dogs and made smores for dinner around the fire pit.

and carved pumpkins!
janie and i stayed up till the wee hours carving intricate wolf patterns that jack and ellie picked out... you couldn't even tell they were wolves when we were done, but we had a great time!

in the morning, jack went on a scavenger hunt to find his birthday gifts before going fishing.

jack got a slingshot: the best gift for a 7 year old boy.

while the boys went fishing, grandma and i took the other two on a hike.
grandma found out later that there had been bears all over in the area while we were there. exciting!

charlie loved eating the ice and kept saying, "mo mice mommy, mo mice!"

cheesin' it up for the camera

the cabin was a favorite for all of us!
